Moonshot relies on other software components, and more importantly, operating systems on both server- and client-side. We recognise that in current applications and target audiences, long-term support versions of popular operation systems are order of the day, therefor therefore it is the intention of the Moonshot project to follow the support policies of the major operating system vendors/distributions:

- We currently support Debian 8 and 9. Unofficially, Debian 7 is also still supported. Support ; support for this version terminates on 31 May 2018 in line with the Debian LTS policy here: https://www.debian.org/News/2016/20160425
- We currently support Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, as well as Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (with unofficial packages). We will terminate Ubuntu 12.04 support on 31 May 2018 in line with the Debian LTS policy and then be in line with the Ubuntu policy here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases
- We currently use an N-1 policy to support RedHat and CentOS 6.8 and 6.9, and RedHat and CentOS 72 7.2 and 7.3. CentOS 6 maintenance support terminates is currently scheduled to terminate on 30 November 2020, in line with RedHat and CentOS policy at https://wiki.centos.org

Windows:
- The Windows SSP is a third-party product by Painless Security, LLC and subject to Painless Security's support policy.

macOS:
- We currently follow Apple's N-2 support policy. The soon-to-be-released macOS client for Moonshot will be supported on OS X El Capitan (10.11), macOS Sierra (10.12) and macOS High Sierra (10.13).
- Basic support currently exists for OS X Yosemite.
