Get Started Using the Live DVD

If you want a quick way to see and test all of the components of Moonshot without having to install and configure any new production infrastructure, then we offer a Live DVD that enables you to do this.

This test environment is a Moonshot-enabled Linux environment that is a working Client and has a working Relying Party (RP) and Identity Provider (IdP) installed and configured to work together in a standalone environment. If you wish to, you can also then connect this to external RADIUS infrastructure to test "real" federated identities, but we do not recommend doing this.

The Live DVD is only for testing and is not suitable for deployment as production infrastructure!

Download and Use the Live DVD

  • The quickest and simplest option: download and run a Debian-based Live DVD.
  • Previous editions of this Live DVD: 2014.10.08 Edition

Create a CentOS Version of the Live DVD (currently obsolete)

  • For those who wish to try Moonshot in a CentOS environment, the current instructions on how to create your own custom CentOS version of the Live DVD are obsolete. We currently do not support a CentOS Live DVD.
  • For instructions on installing a Moonshot Identity Provider or RP Proxy, please visit the Install an Identity Provider and Install an RP Proxy pages and select your appropriate CentOS release.

Use an Ubuntu-based Version of the Live DVD on Microsoft Azure via VMDepot
